A Message From Erin Smith, President
The most common question we are asked is: “Who is Bob?” The best answer I’ve ever heard was from one of our employees – he simply replied “I’m Bob, actually we’re all Bob.” That’s because we are a team and each and every one of our employees is responsible for upholding the expectations of the company.
But really, who is Bob? Well, the real Bob was my father-in-law. In 1984, with extensive experience as a Union Ironworker installing rolling steel doors, he founded Bob’s Overhead Door. In the early 90’s, however, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. No longer able to handle the day to day operation of the company, his son assumed control of the assets. By 2003, the company needed to improve its leadership, direction and growth. Having extensive experience in construction management, along with a construction and business management degree, I joined the company. I worked hard to increase our level of professionalism, strengthen our image, raise the level of knowledge and skills of our mechanics, and increase the capacity to provide quality work to our commercial customers.
With the increasing demand for residential garage doors, I acquired the necessary MHIC license and IDEA certifications in 2006 to expand our services into the residential market. Today, with more than 12 trucks, 24 employees, 7,000 square feet of warehouse, office and showroom space, I’m proud to say that if it is the owner you are looking for, that’s me, not Bob anymore. But now you know who Bob was and that today, we are a team of Bobs – hardworking, honest, fair and caring people, just like the original Bob. So don’t be surprised when you call our office and ask for Bob and we ask you which one.

Most of the products we sell and install are provided by Wayne Dalton, Clopay, and Liftmaster. We have enjoyed excellent, long-term relationships with all three of these industry leaders. They give us unlimited support, as well as a wide array of products to fit your needs.
